How can I 'break' a silicone seal?

How can I remove the silicone from a sealed aquarium? I have a busted one I'm trying to parse down into sheets so I can take them to the local glass guy. Will a blowtorch melt silicone or do I just need to cut/saw the seams? Thanks.

Braided fishing line. Work it back and fourth like a saw and it cuts through like butter. Agree with piano wire and 008 guitar string. Then clean up with razors then acetone.

I def. got some banjo strings laying around, will give it a try. I kinda just want rid of it at this point so I can avoid coming to terms with the blunder.
