Hi everyone,
Right before is time to change my filter sock I siphon the sand and rocks and set the hose of the siphon back to filter sock to catch the sand. Once I finish I replace the filter sock save the sand in a bucket clean it with Ro water very well, take out all strange matter an put the sand back in my refugium for few days until i feel is safe to spread it back into the display tank and right after siphoning i turn up my skimmer to drain the water I want to replace. It works for me an i have pristine water; 0 to 2 ppm nitrate , 0 nitrite, 0 ammonia. I don’t over feed and my tank never looks like the video tutorial of how to clean and do water change presented before in the post.
Happy reefing!
