How can i get my tank crystal clear?

13.5 gallon tank here. The main thing is water quality stability. This tank is super small and would need to know what is in the tank. Not a great tank for a beginner. But that is what the hobby industry has been pushing to get people into the hobby. Need to learn to keep this tank simple. Learn how to mix salt correctly and to do water changes. Many water issues come from learning how to do the simple things. An the simple things will make or break this size tank

Definitely need photos, and a better explanation of what the current filtration is. How long has it been running, what got stirred up into the water column to begin with?

I use a felt pad 14" X 14" on a drip sump....it is my polishing of water that makes it so crystal clear. Been using it for years. Pad works for about one week before I have to wash it, unless I have been digging in my sand bed and/or moving things around the tank. I wash it on the rinse cycle in my washer but air dry it and stack it until needed. Have about a dozen ready to go when I stir up the tank. The ones I'm using are about ten years old. Cheap and easy, and crystal, polished clear water.

Also the felt pad is being used 24/7.....always crystal clear water. You know, except at feeding time which I shut it off for 10 to 15 minutes.
