These mushrooms have been moving up and to the left over the last few months and now one is battling my encrusting coral. Can I just yank it off and glue it somewhere else?

Thanks

IMHO, I would remove the mushroom and flush it. They breed like rabbits and will sting and kill almost everything it can.
Monti or mushroom?
Monti will get my vote every time....

I called two local fish stores. We decided the best plan would be to wait until night when the mushrooms retract and then use a metal tool to attempt to chip the rock away where the mushroom is attached and move it that way. I have read stories of mushrooms getting out of control, but his particular one has only divided once in 6 months and has not really caused any problem until now so I am hesitant to dispose of it. It is pleasing to the eye.

A sharp razor at the foot of the mushroom and you can cut it off. Any tissue left over will grow another. I wouldn't flush it, that particular mushroom is no where near invasive as a discoma. That's a very nice green rhodactis.

I know sometimes my opinions can be blunt and quick. I personally don't like mushrooms because along the road of learning to keep certain corals I have lost a few to mushroom overgrowth. With that being said, I realize there are some of us that don't like to kill anything that we grow. So, just like DSC stated, you can cut it off the rock and put it elsewhere and it should recover just fine.
In time though I think you will start feeling the same way I do about mushrooms, maybe not..
