How can I plumb this?

So I am planning my first tank, 40 breeder & 40 sump, and it will have a fish room in the adjacent space. I have no sink and I am figuring how I can drain the waste water from the RODI and AWC. The equipment with be close to the house sump (not very active). I am thinking I can drain the water into the down pipe of the house sump that leads into the main drain. What's the easiest/ most ffective way to go about this?

They sell a piece that goes around the copper pipe and punctures a hole with a hose valve attachment.. Hook that up to the inlet. Have the waste go down that drain hole?

Just a heads up....and let you know that I have been away from the mechanical industry for many years, so things might have changed, but that connection looks illegal. I think what I'm seeing is a basement sump pump tied directly into the waste line leaving the house. In my day, that wasn't allowed. So whatever you do, don't let an inspector into your basement!

Now that said, either attach a waste line RO connector to that maybe 2 inch waste line, or run the waste water directly into the sump, and have the pump expel the water. If you go with the waste line connector, you'll want it in that down line before the cast. Otherwise the water could back flow back into the sump.

No gas line I can see. I'm seeing the water line with meter with remote read....and the waste line (sewer line) leaving the house.

Oh right, I didn't know what that was. At a glance I saw copper and thought gas.

If you watch the video he is referring to the saddle valve they tap into the cold. Which is not what I want and I know it's not up to code. At the end of the video they show some drain adapter kit which is similar to the saddle valve. Not sure if that's to code or not.

Yes, the copper is the water coming in, and the believed cast and black ABS is waste going out.

Is the RO waste line connector what they show towards the end of the video, after the saddle valve?

I could drain the RO water into the the sump, but I dont want to put the AWC waste water into the sump.

SAddles are fine unless local code says otherwise. A saddle waste shouldn't be an issue.

Ok I know coming in saddles can be an issue because of pressure concerns, but like you said, I cant imagine the waste connection being an issue. I should be ok connecting 2 saddles (1 for RODI, 1 for AWC), right?

Ok I know coming in saddles can be an issue because of pressure concerns, but like you said, I cant imagine the waste connection being an issue. I should be ok connecting 2 saddles (1 for RODI, 1 for AWC), right?

I dont see why not. But id try to use one for both the auto water change and ro waste becsuse your damaging your pipe with each saddle that you install. If you have a sump pump in that hole jist run your waste there and the pump will send it out?

Yes it would. Which would be no issue for RODI water. But I would be hesitant to run the salt water through the water. Id be afraid that the sump woukd wear down quicker. I suppose I could stick the RODI in the sump and have 1 saddle.

Anyone out there drain their waste water through sump? I have read more negative than positive.

Im sorry, I dont know what you mean by breather pipe and trap. My plumbing knowledge is limited. Why would the AWC be an issue but the RODI not be? If it makes any difference,it will be changed less than a gallon per day.

As for the waste line, is this what you are referring to?

What is the reason you don't want to put the WC water into the sump? I use my basement sump to run the RO reject water and water change water into for almost 10 years and I have never had an issue with either.

Edit: Missed the post where you said you heard negatives about the WC water into the sump. I however have never had an issue
