how can I prevent 2 part Doser tube blockage ?

Hi, as above every few days the tips of my Ca and Alk mix hoses get clogged with residue. Is that due to air contact or sump water spray contact?
Either way, how do we keep the hoses clear ? Thanks

If it is in air, the tips should not get clogged except by evaporation. Neither one will react in air to form a solid.

I'd personally keep them in the air and not submerged.

I assume then the solution is too highly concentrated and the tips are close enough to the water to get misted with water. I have mixed a different brand to try which I can see is more dilute. I also raised the tube tips. Thank you.

FWIW, you can dilute any brand, if that prevents the clogging.

I guess I should have been more specific! I use the drop doser acrylic sump mount from pacific sun. It keeps the ends of the tubes submerged so there is no precipitate. I have been runnin this for about 6 months now without any issues. I use the Red Sea additives but the solution is not too strong that I dose with.

I keep my tubes about 4 inches off the water, and I cut the end at a 45 degree angle so the tendency to pool at the tip is reduced. So far no clog in 12 months

Do you dilute it before use?

When the alk solution contacts seawater there is normally immediate precipitation of magnesium hydroxide using a two part that has a high pH. Maybe yours does not have a high pH?

Yes I had mine stuck in the water and my whole alkalinity tube was white with precipitation so now I keep them out of the water and don't have a problem

OK, so that provides a closed air gap to drop the dose. That seems fine.
