I'm planning a new tank build and we have low ceilings in the basement. How close can I have my lumenbrights to the ceiling? I have the reflectors right now on a light rack I built. The tank I'm setting up is 30". And the ceiling is 84". So I'm pressed for space cause I dont want a really short stand. Please advise.

I had my lumenbrights about 12" from my floor joists in the basement ceiling. My basement is unfinished with exposed joist up above. I never had any issues with heat or anything and probably could have put them a little closer.

I have mine on another tank about 6" from the ceiling and the ceiling isn't warm to the touch at all. I'm wanting to go 1" or 2" from the ceiling if possible. I may call coralvue tomorrow

That's pretty close bro and I would use extreme caution. What type of ceiling is it?

+1 on the type of ceiling. I don't know if I would feel comfortable any closer, no matter what Coralvue says. Lot of factors at play here; type of ceiling, are the reflectors enclosed(mine were not), ventilation/air circulation at or near the reflectors....
