How come some corals are naturally white?

I have seen some pictures of corals that are white or pale but not bleached. They are not non-photosynthetic either. You can tell they are not bleached because they are not glowing. How are they like that? Wouldn’t they not get enough food because there is not enough symbiodinium in their flesh? Or would they get more of their food from the water column?

Those are all bleached or zeo type looking corals(pastel)...........you run like that it's on a razors edge. That is not the natural color of the coral. The zoo population is very scarce.

If the tips on the second pic were brighter and deeper colored than I would say the branches are naturally white like this.
