How common are coral pests?

Mostly interested in Acropora pests such as flatworms and red bugs.

I haven’t had either, but I also dip, remove plugs, QT everything, etc. The posts on here of tank breakdowns are scary enough, but you still hear stories of the one that “slipped through the cracks”.

So how common are they? 1 in 100 Frags? 1 in 200?

What battles with coral pests have you overcome and won?

The rule that you should dip everything regardless of where it comes from still applies, yet the source of your frags certainly changes the odds.

If Group A bought everything from BattleCorals or WWC and Group B went to frag swaps, live sales, used a dozen vendors, bought from LFS, there would likely be a measurable difference. There are no guarantees.

Simply getting a pest isn't a death sentence either. How many times did a pest slip thru, yet their wrasse kept everything in check.
