I once saw a boxfish shoot a man in Reno just to watch him die.. That is how dangerous they are. 
How dangerous are boxfish?

Someone out there put something smart here.
I have a friend who used to have a fully grown longhorn cowfish- 16” long, about 9 years old. It was in a 900 gallon 12 ft long tank.
It sadly died from a tank crash when a Doser got stuck on and dispersed 6 gallons of alkalinity into the tank while they were on vacation.
Definitely true!
We just keep a few parakeets together so they can interact with each other.
I don't have the time a good parrot owner needs.
Lol, that's why I keep fish and parakeets.
The biting info comes from other people's pets and hanging around Animal Jungle far too often in the Bird rooms.
Love the parrots, just can't own one right now.
I suggested the biting information earlier because I think certain fish are nearly as smart as some parrots.

My yellow boxfish have been gone for about a week now, nothing wrong has happened yet. No fish has died since I put it in. I read some place that box fish eats sponges in the wild, and they are very toxic. So, I am wondering if the skin of a boxfish works kind of the same way as the skin of a poison dartfrog. Poison dartfrogs are not toxic if keept in captivity, because the bugs it need to eat to produce toxins in the skin is not present in the terrarium, might be the same with boxfish? I guess the only fish tested for toxins are wild fish, and not fish that have been kept in tanks for weeks and months. I personally do not think a captive yellow boxfish can kill off a tank with toxins.
Hi , last night our box fish did the same and wiped out 80% of the tank, it also killed itself , I quickly took it out and put it in the reserve tank it was alive for a few hours but passed on too, however , it did kill 10 fish.
