The title is a little misleading, being that this final aquascape is actually the 4th configuration this reef tank has seen in its two month life. Back story, I have never had a reef tank, or any kind of fish tank for that matter in my life.

So, like most true begInners, my Aquascape planning constisted of me buying the live rock, bringing it home and throwing into a massive pile With huge grin on my face calling it good. And as we all know with lack of planning, this oviously lead me to the “this is boring and looks like garbage” So I changed it.

I continued this path for the first two weeks until landing on this final configuration. Basically I am just wanting to know, how did I do? Does the law of 3rds seem to apply with my little reef, and most importantly, am I just biased or is this particular set up as aesthetically pleasing as I believe it is for a persons first ever reef tank? I will let R2R be the judge.

Thanks for the replies!

Looks good to me.
2 thing to keep in mind
Leave room to clean the glass with magnet cleaner. Dont put the rock too close to the glass.
Power head placement for flow. You dont want too many dead spots

Cannot stress this enough. Especially if you end up with an algae issue-you’ll need that extra room.
