Hello,
This is a short history lesson on how I heard about the amazing hobby called reef keeping.
I know I am dating myself but it was either the late seventies or very early eighties.
A article from FAMA magazine by a James DeBernardo titled "Is it time for a change" was the first time I ever heard terms such as live rock, protein skimmers, separate containers for spray bars, biological filtration with marine plants, etc. I know that soon after that article was written he was banned from writing in FAMA magazine. There than came a 6-8 part article by a person,(I can't remember his name) who really explained in great detail how this new reef keeping was accomplished. So for any of you older reefers who can clarify the facts I sure would like to hear from you. I am really curious to discover what happened to J. DeBernardo or who was the author who wrote the many part article on reef keeping.
