How did you justify buying a Radion Light?

It is... Then why don't they put the function that they have in there $200 light fixture in the $420+ light fixture instead of selling a $100 add on?

You would have to ask them , lol Ecotech purchased AI not long ago I believe. Maybe new model will .

Visited World Wide Corals and saw their display and 900 gallon grow out tank in the back. Went to my LFS and ordered them as soon as I got home.

They have definitely delivered as expected.

I hope so, Ughhh I hate when big companies do buy outs because you almost always get worse products and have to overpay.

Edit: I just read an article it appears they didn't do a buyout but a merger. So not sure how that works entirely and if each company still keeps holding onto its own intellectual property/patents.

My first purchase from Ecotech was a radion gen one and an mp 10 I bought them both because they were feature rich compared to other options that was seven years ago and I still use both of these products on my reef today plus an Mp 40 and two Gen 4 XR15 pros. These products are reliable . Justifying the price ??? That’s subjective...

I had 2 AI Hydra 26 over my 4ft tank. After a year one of my Hydras crashed and wouldn’t turn on. It was out of warranty and I didn’t want to pay to fix a light that broke in a year. Swapped them out with 2 Radion XR15 then later bought a 3rd. Growth is better, colors are better and I believe it to be an all around better light. Results in my tank have been great and I am a huge supporter of Radion lights.

If you like them and they’re in your budget, there won’t be much rationalizing needed. If they’re not in your budget, probably shouldn’t have them on your radar.

I still prefer the AI Hydras over the Radions. Virtually the same performance and wattage, built in WiFi, and less expensive. You can easily find or make tour own diffuser for the Hydras as well. To my knowledge they have all of the same functionality as well. The Hydra 52 is equivelant to the Radion XR30 and costs ~$200 less than the Pro. I see NO reason to spend that extra money on a Radion, instead I will use it for some of the other necessities of reefing.

The Radions are great lights and will get the job done, but there are other options that do the job just as well, IMO. :)

I think there are tour die hard fans for products/equipment they use. Just like a Chevy person will only Chevy, same for Ford, Dodge, etc.

I personally like to read reviews and research everything myself. I have honestly seen more bad reviews for EcoTech products then for AI. I also try to remember that usually the only people that leave reviews are when a product doesn't perform to expectations. So IMO it is all in who you to lol.

I was going to buy a pair of Hydra 26s and the XR15s went on sale. Got the diffusers and it's a gorgeous light and trusted by every major Coral grower.

I also run an Apex so controller integration was a nice factor even with needing to buy the WXM.

Guys need your suggestion, does it has a significant lost PAR after a year usage? Am I need to add more radion or add some supplement like vitamini or t5ho to get the best output?
FYI, now I'm using 2xr 30 and 1Xr 15 on my 480liter reeftank

Radions are like Tom Brady and the Patriots. We all hate them because they are so good.

Plenty of others are good too, and easier to cheer for, but Radions always get the job done. Jerks.

Ecotec Are hands down the best LEDs you can buy, well worth the money.

I was at a local swap and purchased a new Radion G4 non pro to test over my tank. Was blown away by the quality, PE over a week, shimmer, etc. And pulled the trigger to go back and get two more within a week. Tank never looked better.

Upgraded from Chinese blackboxes...

Was getting a new, larger tank. Uncle Sam knocked on door and took all my new tank money:mad::mad::mad::mad:
