How did you mount your Rodi in garage?

My Rodi was received, yes! Excited over water like I'm in the desert lol. Does everyone mount the unit in the garage on some mdf or ply? I heard some using foam to secure it to drywall?

Going to mount next my water softener for hose output =)

The top bracket on mine has holes 16" apart so fit directly on the wall and screwed to two studs. I mounted it above the laundry sink so I have a place for the waste line to drain. It also makes it nice since you can set water jugs or buckets in the sink so if you happen to forget it is filling, the overflow doesn't do damage. (Not that I flooded the wifes kitchen floor or anything like that in the past.....)

I mounted mine on a piece of plywood directly above the supply water line.

Is there any negative or risk mounting on Wall? Is it rare units leak? Just wouldn't want to replace drywall. Then again I guess 1/2" board mount wouldn't do much either

I have not seen anything negative about the place I mounted mine.

There have been no leaks in 3 years.
If I had drywall up, I would probably mount the ro/di unit to a thin sheet of plywood and then hang that on the drywall.

I'm thinking between water heater and the orange extension cord area, the faucet is right underneath.

Thats a good spot, make sure you have a place for the waste though.

racin, be sure to measure your waste ratio. With a 150' long waste line you have increased the headloss on the waste side and reduced the waste flow. Make sure it is still in the manufacturers recommended range. Also make sure to keep the end of the wate line up out of the tree well, an air gap, to prevent any backflow problems. Having the line in the well violates health codes.

I got a waste drain pipe that runs into the laundry room off the softener right there where the black tubing goes =)

Yup. I was building my tank stand at the time and I wanted to get some practice with a kreg jig so I made it real fast. I screwed a 2x4 to some studs in my garage and then screwed the RODI unit to the 2x4. It was a really simple job.

I got a piece of inch thick board and screwed it into the studs of the garage. Then I mounted the RODI system onto the board.

I made a smaller stand for my 23 gallon Rubbermaid ATO storage can next to my electric water heater. I installed a 3/4" ball valve close to the bottom of the can so I can filll 5G water jugs and buckets for water changes.

I mounted mine in the laundry room so the waste goes right down the washer drain. Also my garage is right next to this room so the good water goes right out to the container.

Can ya post a pic? I may do a stand and let gravity due the work lol. I got a 18g brute but wouldn't mind somethin with a smaller footprint.
