Ok...recently aquired some sweet chalice and favia.....I'm afraid I've been bitten.
Anyway from my previous experience with favia and even chalice it seems that they like to encrust over something vs. free growing on the sand or mounted on a ledge.
Is this a good assumption? I notice chalice can plate but is the growth slower than if you provide a flat surface for it to grow on?
As for favia I don't believe they are good at creating there own skeleton and much prefer to grow over a surface.
What do you think?
