For people that have chromis, how do they sleep? Do they sleep together, near each other, or separate throughout the tank? I enjoy making dedicate areas for some of my fish.

I was getting rid of my stock tank and thought about salvaging some of the parts to use as a fish shelter. I'd wedge a small rock in-between each compartment to further the security, almost like a door.
If they sleep together, then I'd likely just carve out some rock and use it as a cave instead.

I don’t have much to share on Chromis schools, but here is what I have observed from my blue-green chromis (Chromis viridis) and blue reef chromis (Chromis cyanea):
- Being a coral-dweller, the blue-green chromis will wedge itself within the branches of the artificial macroalgae.
- The blue reef chromis generally sleeps in the corners of the aquarium or next to, but not within the PVC (excluding one instance where it slept in the blue PVC with the blenny). This might change since I only added the white PVC two days ago.
- The two chromis almost never sleep together.
- The chromis change color at night. The blue-green chromis turns pink and develops greenish spots. The blue reef chromis darkens.

P.S. neither chromis have names yet, but say hi to “Feo” the tail-spot blenny (Ecsenius stigmatura)!
