How do dosers typically fail?

I have a relatively cheap doser, Jebao DS4, and was wondering, anecdotally, how dosers usually fail when they do? I.e. do they over or under dose?

That can fail in the on position which would be the worst. They can fail off which would be better since your only missing a dose until you notice. The tubing can fail or kink in the head. Theirs plenty of ways to fail.

I also have a jebao doser that I recently setup since it's just dosing alk and cal at the moment I plugged it into my apex so if the pH spikes high it will turn it off. That would at least alert me if the alk portion fails in the on position.

i use spectrapure and don’t have to worry about failures. boom.

Not necessarily... Everything fails, that's why we have backup plans.
