Trying to decide on either a fighting or tiger conch. I have read other posts on this subject but nobody mentioned how the fighting, or tiger for that matter, get along with other snails. Anybody have their fighting conch kill other snails?

Thanks,
Steve

I'm not sure overall, but I had one for 2yrs before it died, and it never bothered the snails or crabs. Don't know if this is the norm or if I just got lucky.

I have a fighting Conch with various other Snails and they do just fine. They just don't necessarily like males of their own species. And they're called fighting conch because their shell resembles a gladiator helmet. Poor guys get a bad rap because of it I think.

They’re very docile creatures. like stated above, they just don’t get along with males of the same species all that well. If the tank has plenty of sand they’ll coexist ( male v male ) but if food gets scarce they might duke it out. You can also supplement their food with nori or veggie wafers.

That’s a funny but true statement. Years and years ago when I was buying my first one I was so nervous that it was going to terrorize my tank. I called him Jimmy The Snail, enforcer for the Boombatz family.
