Hello I am 15 and have been in the hobby for a year.
I love clownfish, especially the designers:bigsmile:. (MY FAVORITE ARE WYOMING WHITES)

I am interested in getting a pair of clowns and breeding. I want to do 1 simple setup, not 10.
If you guys can please help by giving me info on stuff i need to have, tank requirments and pictures of yours!. Should I start with cheap clowns, where can i buy pairs?

I saw a thread on here where this guy had a huge fish room and was breeding wyomings in a 10 gallon tank.

Any information is appreciated.

You should start by doing a lot of research. Most of this information has been posted many times. Some books I would suggest are
http://www.amazon.com/Clownfishes-Captive-Breeding-Natural-History/dp/1890087041/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1374685266&sr=1-1&keywords=joyce+wilkerson

Most designer clowns are ocellaris or percula, so you can usually just get two juvenile fish and keep them together, or one large and one juvenile. This will be the least expensive route, but involves waiting for them to mature (and therefore a bit of patience). You can buy pairs at various places, LiveAquaria's Diver's Den may be a good place to start. Otherwise watch your local club for people selling pairs. Although this *may* get you a spawning pair more quickly, it will also likely cost much more.

You will need to learn to culture rotifers and all that that entails. You will also need to decide if you will use algae pastes (easier, but more expensive) or culture live phyto (more time consuming). Sources for these things are Florida Aqua Farms, Liveaquaria, Seahorse Source, Algagen, and many many others (check your local club again!)

You should read all the breeding threads in this forum and look at setups as this will likely answer most of your questions. If you are interested in where someone got a pair, ask in their thread as this is much more likely to get you responses and will give you more context as to what the person's setup is actually like.

You can be as simple as one pair in one 10 gallon tank with one larval tank and one growout tank. Breeding fish is space and time (and money) consuming, so, being 15 and all that, you really should make sure your parents are okay with it.
