How do I clean Macroalgae of pests?

I got a lump of Macroalgae online but it seems to have bristle worms in it, can I dip them in bayers or will that hurt the algae?

I recently added chaeto again to my system and soaked it in freshwater for about 6 hrs. Chaeto was fine but killed anything that was in it.

I didn’t look for what it killed but nothing can survive being in freshwater that long.
