This new 300 gallon tank I bought, was so neglected, and everything is just covered in yuk! the pumps are my prime concern now. I have been using magic erasers, and those worked fantastic on all the glass and plastic. But I am not going to be able to get all this off with those. Can I soak these in bleach water? then rinse, and dry? I am not close yet, to even starting this tank up....probably and possibly next weekend, but Idk for sure. any help is appreciated. it's white, that is now brown from neglect...it does come white again with M/E use.

Thanks!!

Take apart what you can on the pumps and soak in citric acid, you can buy Milliard brand, safe for everything. I use it to clean my pumps, skimmers...well everything.

Don't clean the glass dry! you may scratch it.

vinegar, bleach and muriatic acid are your best friends. Also, Bar Keepers Friend Cleaner is great too! I've used all and have not had issues.

will it take the crud off the outside? I use vinegar typically, but then if I do that, I"ll still be scrubbing. may have to anyway
