Hi guys, it is spring here in perth and the temp got to 35C (95F) My tank is reading 27C (80.6F) it gets much hotter in summer here.
My tank is a 58ltr (i6Gal) AIO tank 3 months old

As far as I know there are 3 types of coolers

1, Refrigerated (expensive and can be tricky)
2, solid state cooling
3, surface fans (I have an ATO)

Anyone on here have any experience with cooling a Nano tank? advice sought

Thank you

I am thinking of getting a budget controller so I can turn off the lights and turn on the surface cooling fans subject to a temperature emergency. I am thinking this combination may work. Can anybody sugest an affordable controller to do this?

Thanks

Amazon sells a Inkbird for around 30 USD

Ranco dual controller. Not the cheapest but solid and reliable. It will run your heaters when it gets cold and turn on your fans when things get too hot. Wont turn on your lights though but id assume you already have that covered.

I agree on Ranco. I've used them for years. They are rock solid.

And with your low humidity, surface cooling on that little tank is the way to go, IMO.

Hi again Doctorgori, I have had a look at the inkbird controller.................perfect.............Thank you.
I think I can buy for $45 AUD but if it was specifically for Aquariums I have a feeling it would be $200.00 Thats the way it seems to work;)

I use a small fan and set it up on a timer. Here I find I only need just after our furnace stops being needed, and before the AC is finally needed...or the just in between type of days...I get. Few degree drop that seems to work.

Thanks guys, seriously, that post just saved me a lot of money which I dont really have..........awsome. Answer......lights of......fans on, what the heck an affordable controller.............= solution:)
