Hello i need help with my Birdsnest. It started turning brown at the tips and looks like it spreading. The small polyps are not coming out like the used to. any suggestions?

& that bottom tip is dead. I would go ahead and cut that part off so it can start to heal. If not it will keep going

Check your alkalinity. Seriatopora is normally very hardy, but it does not tolerate alk swings.

Yes its right at the top of the tank under a Kessil 360n. All the other Sps birdsnest are looking good.

The only other thing that comes to mind is coral warfare. I occasionally have euphelia sting sps. Anything close to this coral?

my water parameters:
Nitrate -0
Nitrite -0
Salinity -1.026
Alk - 8
Ph - 8.2
Cal -440
Mag- 1400
Phos- 0

My ph tends to get low so everytime I top off i add "Eight4" to boost Ph and Alk. I do 10% water change every 2 weeks. I have a Hob refugium with chaeto and a couple mangroves. I use a mechanical filter as well. No Protein skimmer.

So should i cut off the dead part and dip the coral in some rx or revive? Do i put it back in a shaded area or right back under the light?

I would definately nip off the dead tips and base if it is receding and glue to a frag plug. Dip in any coral dip to help heal. Place it in your frag rack.

Thanks for the advice really appreciate it..And so does my wallet. lol

You said "Every time you top off". Do you not have an ATO? If not that could also be a culprit

Cut dead section of dip it and glue it on a frag plug and start out low on the sand bed and work your way up.
Looking at the coral my $0.02 is that some how your # were off or you have a pest in your tank, direct flow on the coral can be also a issue from a return outlet.
Your PO4 is 0, if that true than raise it a bit to 0.04 or so by feeding your fish a bit more food.
Good luck, let us know how things progress.

wow thank you guys for the advice. I may need to some major husbandry and upgrading.

Here is a photo of my birdsnest after one night being too close to the greenstar polyp. Looks similar to me. +1 for coral warfare as the cause

I can't believe GSP' s zinged it like that, maybe by the constant irritation. With most nests I've found keeping po4 calc alk and light levels in check help it thrive best.
