how do I dose randys recipe 2

hi for yrs ive been using randys recipe 2 . Go to the reef chemistry calculator and dose as suggested for big changes and then dose and measure to maintain these levels. After watching a few videos on dosing 2 part , in these videos they concentrate on the alk dosing to maintain the desired level and then add the same amount of the calcium part as they dosed for alk not worrying what level the calcium is, just that it should be in balance and find its own happy spot. Can I do this with randys recipe 2? will it balance out? thanks john

I would say yes. I remember Anthony Calfo ( I think) saying how Alk and calcium are like two sides of a balance - when one goes up the other goes down. So I would say if you target a specific realistic alkalinity then calcium should fall into place.

Just my thoughts. Randy will probably stomp me, lol.
