This is a pretty new BTA for my tank and it looks like it's settled in a pretty inconvenient spot. Foot is buried deep in the rock as well so I won't even bother touching it.

But it's sort of upside down/sideways and I'm not sure if it'll be able to consume a shrimp and all in it's current position?

Also if I gently direct a powerhead at it do you think it'll move somewhere else?

If you just set the food on it the anemone will grab it and move it to its mouth.

Only problem is if you force him to move. There's a chance that he'll just let go and move again. If you need to move him for fear of hurting other corals put a powerhead pointed directly at him and it may get him to move. But be careful not to stress him out to much being that he's still new to the tank. As far as eating. Once he grabs onto the shrimp it's not going anywhere. He will pull it into his mouth.

Perfect so even at the angle he'll get a grip on the food. Do people use reef roids on anenomes too or is it usually just whole pieces of food?

That's what I figured, I'll make peace with the little one haha. I think he really likes that spot because it gets some nice direct sunlight in the morning.

I either set a small piece of raw shrimp on it or I use a turkey baster and squirt it with mysis shrimp, it will grab them.

it can easily eat in that position. I have a sticky relating to feeding nems, refer to that and you should be good to go. Nem looks good man.

i have found with nems that if you move them they will move again so you really just have to let them be and consider yourself lucky if they stay up front where you can see them. i feed them frozen krill, plankton, slam, whatever...
