In my mix tank, I added a used pump to flip on and transfer to a holding tank.

My coral started doing bad.

After a month of WTFing, it dawned on me. Brass = copper

I have since added a bunch or carbon to my holding tank and mix tank to absorb it. I run carbon in DT so that should filter out eventually.

Anything else I should do?

That brass fitting absolutely needs to be replaced. It won't even last long in saltwater. Past that, cuprisorb and water changes. Poly pad will be good towards the end to see if you still have lingering copper. Most types of carbon have limited ability to adsorb copper.

We did the same thing at a large coral store about a decade ago. Bought a new pool pump, installed it, and $10,000 of coral started melting away. We added a poly pad, and it turned blue, indicating the presence of copper. After ripping apart the pump we found a brass mechanical seal.

What is this poly pad..

This is the product: https://www.poly-bio-marine.com/

Many local fish stores sell it, as well as online retailers like Aquacave (showed up first in my search among online retailers). They have pretty wide reach in the market, but no advertising. It's one of those things I keep on hand, unopened, just in case something weird happens. My former boss (at a fish store) once told me that he spilled an entire beer in a 55 gallon. He threw a poly pad in the filter, no water change, and everything was fine. It's not my story, but I'll be using one if I spill a beer in my tank!
