Earlier I the week I put a waste away time release “stick” in my sump.
It’s cleaned up the diatom bloom that had started perfectly.

But now my skimmer is going crazy (see the video) and nothing I do stops it. I’ve tried just letting it run full open. I’ve tried turning the air down an leaving the outflow full open. Pretty much everything. The only thing I can do that stops the overflow is letting it run with the outflow full open and stopping all the air from going in. That of course just just fills the sump and hence the entire system with micro bubbles.

Anyone else had this happen? If so how did you fixit. The obvious answer is take out the Dr Tim’s waste away and probably do a water change. But I just did a 10 gallon water change yesterday (it’s a 25 gallon lagoon tank, about 35 gallons total volume.

Any help greatly appreciated.

I would just remove the collection cup or drain plug and let it run for a few days and then try it again. A lot of times when you add things to your tank it can cause the skimmer to go crazy, and you just have to let it run its course. Definitely remove the stick if it already did what it needed to do.

I pulled the drain plug earlier tonight. It’s just overflowing into the sump now. My Apex salinity probe is going crazy with all the bubbles now but that’s a easy fix later.

This is what I do when something drives mine nuts
