How do I get rid of dust?

My return pump breaks the surface of the water and the dust moves out of the way but then it makes a weird circle around the area where the pump breaks the surface. How do I make it look normal and clear?

It sounds like it forms a vortex. You can try pointing it towards the glass a bit
