Good ole aiptasia

The natural way with peppermint shrimp, or a filefish I haven't had luck with one but some people have.

You can get a product called Aiptasia X Also a syringe with peroxide and inject them with it (never tried this but I have heard it works)

When I had quite a few is a small tank (JBJ28), I was afraid to use chemicals because of the size of the tank. So I microwaved a coffee cup of RO/DI water and gave each one a good squirt using a turkey baster.

They are nasty. I know people who have broken down a tank before over them. Just to start over without them. All the above are part of the tool for battle. Also people have luck with bergia nudibranchs. The eat the whole anamal and foot.

Very common too I might add. I have a tank with them have been kept at bay by peppermint shrimp. Seemed like they don't the the ones deep in the cracks. But keep them under control and out of sight. If the shrimp croaks and they bloom I will try the nudibranchs.

Got some live rock from my friend's aquarium that was unknowingly infested with aptasia. Tried burning them with kalk direct, but it wasn't that successful (took a few tries). I didn't like dosing the tank directly, so I ended up getting a Copperband Butterflyfish(CBB) and after day 2, I have no aptasia. Luckily, he's thriving off mysis and stealing from one of my nems now.

If you use peppermint shrimp, don't feed your tank for 2 days, and leave the lights off for the second day. The shrimp come out when its dark, and usually does the trick.
