It's a process, folks take different strategies to get to the same place.

I vacuumed/syphoned the rocks daily
I used Vibrant for 7 weeks
I dosed hydrogen peroxide 10ml per gal for 3 or 4 weeks
I got my phosphates and nitrates low but never zero

And after 3 months or so, my tank is free of the green menace.

Good luck, this is a process, nothing easy about this in my experience!!!

Tooth brush works
I used a tooth brush and it helped a little. Just very messy. All of it got into the water column and some of my corals hated it. After a couple water changes it seems that its dying off and getting a little better.

Tape that sucker to a hose that has a siphon going. Scrub, and suck at the same time without it floating everywhere.

Vibrant works, but created big problems in my tank. What worked for me was get sea urchins. They are the reefs lawn mowers. For real.

Id scrub those rocks down, either in tank or outside. Then get 1 urchin per 50 gallons. They will keep it clean. I like my 2 decorator urchins. My snails don't help at all. Most of the time on the glass, while the urchins go on the rocks and glass.

Flux rx. Then get your no3 and phosphates in line. Then check out reefcleaners.org for a solid cuc. Follow up with some algae eating fish. Tangs. Rabbit fish.
