I have a biocube 29, and I'm pretty sure the sand just constantly swirls. Most of it sits like normal, but some particles are always floating. I can't figure out how to clear up the water. I turned off the powerhead for a while, and the return pump to, but the particles just floated where they were basically. Would turning off the powerhead and return pump for an extended period of time solve it?

If you can adjust flow so it bounces off glass diffusing that blast of water.

This. You have to play with it sometimes. Larger grained sand is less of an issue as well, but that's water under a bridge at this point because that ship has sailed!

Let it swirl till it finds its resting spot, or turn down the power heads. You'll have this problem with fine grade sand.

Ok, thanks, I'll try that. I'm thinking when I get a larger tank I will definitely not be doing the finer sand bed...

Yeah I made that mistake on my first tank as well. Its fine if you don't need a lot of flow, but once I started to get sps I needed a lot more flow and sand was everywhere. [emoji53]
