So I have the breakout box from Avast marine, and want to hook up a few things. I have a magnetic switch, and two doorbells I want to hook up. What kind of wire do I need? On the doorbell there are two screws on the back, I think I connect wire to here, then run to the breakout box?

The words say 22 gauge 4 conductor stranded speaker wire, but what you have and whats in the picture is single conductor wire. You can use it but what you should have gotten is 2 conductor, 22 gauge speaker wire.

Yes, that is better.

Okay, I’ll order this instead. When I go to hook it up, it’s red to red black to black?
Is there a thread in here helping with breakout box, when I go to write codes?

Someone else will have to answer that. I was an electrician for 40 years but I don't know what a breakout box is or what it is for.

Haha thank you Paul. Breakout box is used with the apex, I’ll be using it to turn on cabinet lighting when I open the doors (by openening the circuit on the magnetic switch) also a couple other tasks.

Oh OK. So I assume it is a relay as those magnetic switches are very low voltage. I use them all over the place and I have a few dozen round ones that are supposed to go in a door frame so you don't see them.
I also use a lot of mercury switches because i am an inventor and build all sorts of useless things.

Do the actinics kick on when guest ring the doorbell? ;)
Dude that’s an awesome thought...Having some company over, and want to show off the coral just ring the doorbell. Unfortunately I can not do that, I have the ATI Powermodule. I was thinking two doorbells, one for a feed mode (stop everything but the powerheads) and another to stop everything, for placing coral and things like that.

Any useless things that have really helped your tank?

Actually yes. I have a water cooled LED light over my tank with a radiator and all. :D

The algae scrubber light is also water cooled.

And the overflow on the bucket that my skimmer drains into shuts off with a DIY overflow switch made from a GFCI. :p
