Hi, trying to figure out how to keep my temperature more stable in my 80g tank. During the day the temp is 77 but during the night it decreases to around 74. My t5 lights do produce a lot of heat so should I get a surface fan to blow away some of the heat? Any ideas?

What is the room temp? What are you using for heater(s)? What temp are you wanting to maintain?

100 watts is not going to be enough. I run 2 150 watt heaters on my 70G tank.

May be that your calibration on the heater is off... I set my heaters 79 after calibrating them and control them with reefpi and a smart outlet. My tank stays at a constant 78.01

I'd recommend beefing up your heater (and maybe even getting two for redundancy), then pick up an Inkbird temperature controller. I use the Inkbird ITC-308S that costs about $35 on Amazon. It has both heating and cooling controls, so you can also run a fan or a chiller to make sure your tank doesn't overheat in the summer.
