I checked my alkalinity and it was around 14.4 dkh. So far my coral and look fine. But I want to know how I should lower it. So it goes down to 10-12. Should I use a non reef crystal salt.? The test kit I used was salifert

I'd test again, maybe with another kit. What it your new SW Alk?

Agreed with above. Unless you're dosing or your salinity is wrong, alk can't get that high.

My salinity is at 1.024 and I just got the salifert test today. I dont have any other test kit. Also I don't have an rodi system so I use tap water and water conditioner. The salt im using is regular instant ocean sea salt cause had some left over and i ran out of th reef crystal salt. I tested it again and it still shows the same readings

I'd just keep monitoring the alk and stop using tap water for anything, if you can.

If you cannot, you can buy a chemical to lower the alk in the new salt water:
