When I got it (sorry, I brought it home in the evening and only have a pic in blues from that time):

One taken last night when I turned the whites on to see what was going on while it was closed up:

I haven't seen any brown jelly, but it's also my first frogspawn and I'm not sure I could ID it. I can't really tell if it's showing signs of bleaching. One head (left) has been stretching tentacles a little more than the others and I'm wondering if that might be a flow issue. The piece was given to me kind of unexpectedly when a fellow hobbyist tore down their tank. I didn't dip it before placing it, mainly because I didn't want to stress it further. It looks rough at sunrise, but fills out very nicely around 5 pm, and responds well to target feeding.

This 120g tank has only been up for three months. I do regular water changes (20% per week) and there is some coralline growth. Since I know you'll ask:

Temp 78°
Salinity 1.025
dKH 7.6
pH 8
NO3 <5ppm
Calcium 380
Mg 1500
PO4 .08

I have everything ready to set up alk/ca dosers, but haven't quite worked out the right dose yet. I know it might help to get both up a smidge.

I'm running Current USA Marine IC LEDS, with placement near the middle of the 2x2x4 ft. tank. I've had the whites at less than 50% on the 14k setting.

What can I do to make this frogspawn happy?

Nope... mines usually looks like poop and starts to throw sweeper tentacles (insanely long) when it's growing new polyps or splitting... looks good though.

This all makes me feel much better. It's been in the tank for about three weeks. It's just really easy to see something unfamiliar (even just the range of expansion/contraction and mouth gape over the course of 24 hrs) and then learn about all of the potential afflictions it may be dealing with.

If it looks happy and healthy to folks who are more familiar with frogspawn, I'll call that a win!

I got one 2 months ago, it gradually seemed to shrink a little bit and show part of the skeleton, but seems like it's doing ok now. Your's doesn't really seem bad, my guess is they just take a bit of time to adjust to a new tank.

I’m having a little trouble with mine. It was happier when my magnesium was around 1300. I’m dosing magnesium now to bring it up to that level and hoping it will get better.

My tank is 5 months old.

I see you mag is 1500 so it’s certainly not too low. Your calcium is a little low though.

They din't like a lot of flow. They will close in a lot of flow. Otherwise pretty simple to take care of. Feed them with benepets or something. Their tentacles will come out. Looks sort of like hairs. They captures particles. I also use the dropper to put it in the center on the thing.

Update - noticed something new today as the lights wound down for the evening. Not sure if I'm seeing damaged tissue or a sweeper tentacle? Is this normal?
