Once I get rid of my aiptasia garden, I never ever want it back. Is there an effective dip for new frags that kills aiptasia? Tried Seachem Reef Dip with no luck (I'm also trying to get them off my moon brain frag before they completely destroy it.)

Make a paste with pickling lime and RO/DI water. Turn off all flow in the tank or, you can put the frag in a bowl by itself. Using a syringe, drop the mixture into the mouth of the aiptasia. Cover it good. After about 30 minutes, suck the past and dead aiptasia up with a baster. Whalah. Turn flow back on.

From what I read a Pepermint Shrimp is an option as well. And when its all gone you can take the shrimp back to your LFS.

peppermint shrimp are awesome. keep them for preventative maintenance they will take out aptasia before they can take off again once u get them under control ....they are detritus eaters and ive seen the with eggs before which will feed corals. Ive don't th same thing with thick kalkwasser/pickling lime except I would inject the till they were full ...they would melt leaving white powder pile.

whenever I get a new frag, I just take the frag off the plug, disk or whatever it came from and re plug it on a brand new disk.

I would strongly suggest to never use a razor blade or to ever cut one. Did that once and next thing I knew had 10 more growing. When they get cut they spore and that will spread all over the tank.

You want to scrape off by the foot. Don't cut it into a million pieces ;)

+1 on peppermint shrimp but there is really on a specific species that will eat them. otherwise you are wasting your time...from what I am told that is. one of the LFS near me sells thjem and they worked for me....totally rid my tank of them and they are still alive cleaning up my tank. I occasionally see an Aptaisia because they are in my overflow so they make it into display..but a couple days latere they are gone. Very effective.

Hmmm....I don't want them ever to make it in, so I suppose the lime's the best option...

If you get a real needle type syringe and inject vinegar into the aiptasia it will die quickly. The advantage to this is uou can inject them even once they have closed.
