Hi there
I'd like to remove this frag plug that is superglued to this plating montipora. But whenever I get a razor blade underneath I am worried I'm going to crack the coral in half, any advice?

Always tough with Montis. Very fragile. If you have a Dremel with a cutting wheel that might work.
Could I just keep chipping at the dried glue with a blade? Or would that stress the coral if it takes lets say 10 minutes

If you’ve got that amount of patience, go for it. Montis are hardy. They can take a lot of abuse.

I have always just used the coral side cutters to clip off as much as possible and then mount, the angle of Frag plug makes for some easier, more secure mounting

I’d leave it on the plug. If it’s the frag plug tube that is making it hard for you to place the monti where you want just cut the tube flush with frag disk and place where desired. That’s what I do with delicate frags.
Thanks for the reply
Only reason I want to remove it is because it's the plating one and if the plug stays it will have no rock underneath it

It’ll grow right over the plug and onto rock. Wouldn’t worry about that. Just be sure no MENs are lurking between the plug and the monti.

it doesn't look like its encrusted over the plug, if you see glue under it, it should be fairly easy to slip a razor under it and pop it off, I usually use a butter knife. If not, then you have 2 or 3 frags lol, it happens a lot.

If its encrusting on the plug then I usually just cut the stem off the plug, but if its not encrusted I go for it.

As stated cut the stem off and glue the plug to the rock where you want it. I think you will end up with little pieces if you try to remove that frag from the plug. Once it grows you won't see the plug.
All 3 of these monti started from frags and the plugs are still on all of them.

Hi there
The monti has had this slime on it since I added it yesterday
Should I clean it off?
