How do I set up my sump

Hello I have a 15 gallon sump I bought from offer up for my 40 gallon breeder. I am new to the hobby and trying to figure out if I need the filter pad for chaeto. I have a 3 chamber sump but I don’t know if it’s set up properly here are some photos. I would like your input as I’m only two months in

No sir I tried and I can’t pull it up. From the photos I hope I can break it down the first part has to pvc pipes that connect to my water box The second is where I have my live rocks and some chaeto but I have lid above it with a filter pad and the the third is my return.

Gotcha. Ya I don't think I'd want the filter pad above the chaeto. It blocks access and block you from mounting a light above the chaeto

So I should remove the the filter pad lid and the chaeto do the filtering yes?

That's probably what I would do but it's just personal opinion.

Ya I figured there was some kind of light hidden in there, I just prefer a bigger light on top and smaller ones on the sides of the tank. It looks like you just have strip lights? Those may be underpowered. The pad im sure is beneficial, I'm just not crazy about it's location.

Hello everyone thank you for the information. I decided chaeto isn’t for me right now. So I went with the protein skimmer. Happy reefing!
