How do I silence my tank?

What do you mean the water level in the return chamber never changes? That is where it will change and is where you put your ATO sensor/float. Just raise the level and you'll get rid of the waterfall noise.
I add water to my tank and it stays the same. I’ll turn the pump off to try and level out the water but it seems to suck all the extra water out and it goes back to the same level every time

+1 I have this tank less than 6 feet from my bed and regularly walk into it because I can’t hear it. I use filter floss with bioballs underneath as filter
Mines in my bedroom too but unfortunately it’s been loud hahaha
Hmm, I haven’t tried that. I’m using a filter sock and have chaeto as well as carbon in the little caddy thing and then an algae covered rock leaning against it to hold it in place. That’s basically my refugium. What compartment did you put the bioballs and filter floss in?
I have 2 tanks in my room and getting a third, it’s not to loud but I can definitely hear it.

Yep, three tanks in my room. The shrimp breeding tank has some noise from a bubbler and CO2 system but it’s kind of soothing actually.

All my friends comment on how serene my room is but I just don’t get it haha. I like the sound of the Lake lapping under a dock and the noise of waves on the pier but aquarium noises annoy me XD

Okay so, you guys are gonna think I’m a COMPLETE IDIOT hahaha but uh my pump started going dry despite the fact I’ve been topping off and I decided what the heck I’ll just mix a gallon of fresh saltwater in a gallon ziplock... yeah.... it stopped making noise and stopped going dry... I’m so sorry to have bothered you guys XD everytime I added sweet water it honestly didn’t seem to make a difference. I’m new to AIO tanks so I guess maybe I just need to lay back and really take time to get to know these tanks

No worries man, glad you figured it out! Make sure your ATO sensor is low enough in the tank, it’s gotta be pretty deep down in there to work properly :)

I don’t have an ATO system yet, but I’m looking into getting one. Parents asked what I want for Christmas so I figured that’d be it XD is there a system you recommend? And do you have a picture of how deep to keep the ATO sensor?

I like the tunze nano osmolator. Works great and is on a float switch so I don’t have to worry about malfunctions. There’s a small ledge on the back wall (peninsula end, not glass side) in the return compartment that I rest my sensor on. Apologies for the dirty skimmer
