Going to divide a 20 gal long or 40 gal breeder into 3 sections...
How do I plumb this to the 20 gal sump? Do I drill 3 holes for return lines in tank?
Do I have to get small overflows for ea section? Does divider glass or acrylic go as tall as tank? ( to keep fish from jumping chambers)
Thanks in advance...

now when you say mesh or screen your meaning the black screen like used in pool cages? and the white sheets from the craft sections at walmart or jo ann fabric?
I have a pack of the white pvc stuff from walmart...Just silicone it in?

Then I could just get away with a single return line into tank from return pump....how do i do overflow?? single? 3?

put the return and overflow at opposite ends to make sure theres flow. from one end to the other.

it depends on the animals. a ridgig egg crate may be fine, you can the put the plastic canvas /mesh / scree over them if you need to make the holes smaller

Yeah and the good reason is....
We have clowns and they are needing a temp place til their current tank gets a makeover.
One tank is leaking and is on particle board stand that whole tank is being replaced by new tank and stand. Other one boyfriend hates where his tank is in house...and i hate the stand...it sways with me when i have headphones in while cleaning all the glass...lol so that tank is getting new location and stand.
So they need to have a place to crash while we are under construction lol

I would use the egg crate cut to exact size and you could probably hold in place with the substrate or rocks. That way you aren't cleaning off silicone when the project is over. If you need finer holes, egg crate covered in the needlepoint craft screen attached with zip ties is best. And yes, intake at one end, return at the other for flow through the entire tank.
