I have a lobophyllia mounted on a rock in the sand on my tank and i was wondering if i need to place more rocks around it for it to grow more mouths and get larger. And what do you do in general for LPS reproduction to get them to spread? Thank you in advance

Instead of placing more rocks around it i'd place it on one, single larger rock but yes for it to continue to grow it will need more rock, the corals skeleton can't attach to sand.

Secondly to increase how fast it grows.. feed it mysis 2 or 3 times a week. Direct feeding where you drop the mysis right on the coral. The extra protein will help alot.

Also make sure you have proper calcium, alkinity and magnesium levels. Without these the lobo can't build any more skeleton :P

But also be aware coral generally grows slow, and depending on the type of lobo you have it could be extremely slow even in perfect conditions. It takes the average coral something like 15-20 years in the ocean to reach maturity... and they grow slower in our tanks.
