I've wondered about this for a while ….. does anyone know? Standard volute pumps are easy to measure flow, but something like a Vortech is far trickier (particularly since it has such a wider flow). Is it just a proxy?

Axial screw/propeller flow meter in the outlet stream or bag inflation method that tunze uses. Tunze pumps are usually underrated compared to the ratings of other brands due to this testing difference.
