Hi all,

After a little over a year in the hobby I have finally reached some semblance of stability in my tank. However, I think I may be having some throughput issues between my sump and display tank. The flow coming out of the return lines doesn't seem to have the same "oomf" that it did before. I pulled apart my return pump and cleaned the coarse filter and that seemed to help a little but now I am concerned that the lines may be clogged or restricting flow.

Are there any tricks of the trade or tips for a beginner? My system is a Waterbox Marine X 90.3 with a stock sump.

you could use a pipe cleaning brush/wire device and just pull it through your lines. Something like this:

Obviously this is easier if you disassemble the plumbing to the extent possible via unions etc. Don't use any soap/detergents, you could soak them in citric acid solution if there is tough buildup.
