How do you dispose of formalin?

For those of you who use formalin during QT, how do you dispose of it? It's my understanding that this is a hazardous substance. When I worked in a lab, there were procedures for getting rid of this stuff, how do you do it at home?

Modern fish culture facilities that use formalin should have some sort of retention pond to send the solution so it can break down over several days.
