I dosed 14 drops of the medtec copper to my 35liter quarantine tank but the salifert test kit that I used didnt change any colour at all. Any idea on how to measure the ppm? Or the salifert test kit is not working?

That product seems to be ionic copper, possibly with a simple citric acid buffer. If so, the typical treatment dose is 0.20 mg/l. The Salifert test is designed for this use. Did you try waiting 20 minutes before reading? Is there anything in your tank that could be binding up the copper? Any calcium source like coral sand or live rock will do that....

Salifert tests don't work, and they never will. I have almost all salifert tests and they never come out with correct readings. The best, if not only, way to test copper is with a Hanna Copper High Range tester. Also buy extra reagents cause it only comes with 6(they run out fast). Never used that brand of copper med, I only use copper power. You need to know what the correct copper level is at all times, or else fish can die. Heres a link to the copper checker and reagents: https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/copp...er-hi702-hanna-checker-hanna-instruments.html

I use the Medtec copper. Your 14 drops seems to be too much. On my 35 Liter QT I dose it slowly over 3 days. I found that 3 drops raised the copper by about 0.07 ppm. You must test it to make sure.

My experience was the same as yours that Salifert was not good enough. I had to use Hanna to keep it accurate enough.

I keep it at 0.20 ppm by measuring it at least once per day.
