ive seen turkey basters but not sure of what the point is.

I take a chunk of rods and a little mysis. I let it thaw and put it directly into the tank. So, why the turkey Baster? Do you mix tank water with it? Why?

I feed nori in the am, flakes or pellets in the afternoon and rods with us is in the evening.

Any comments appreciated!! (Well, the nice kind anyway)

Turkey baster is used when you want to spot feed something that A) a coral attached to a rock or B) is either too timid, or always hiding so doesn't get out and eat with everyone else.

Just mix the food up in some tank water to thaw out and dump in. Easy easy. Then spot feed the corals as needed.

I put a little flake food and add Selcon then add my frozen choices for the feeding (this is all in a shot glass) then add a little tank water to thaw it out. Then they get like 2-3 short bursts of food dumped in. They also get Nori in 3" x 1" strips twice a day.

I find the turkey baster an essential tool at keeping my nutrients in control. I spot feet the mouths of my hungry corals so I know there's not a ton of excess stuff floating around my tank

I feed with thing. 1 cube a day of home made food. I drop the cube in frozen and it tumbles until it defrosts and allows bits of food out over a period of a few minutes. Usually around 4 or 5 pm.

Here it is in the upper right of the tank.

Then some nori every few days in a clip sandwiched between some plastic gutter guard so the fish can't rip it off the clip then have it lodged on a powerhead.

I also have an auto feeder that feeds some new life spectra early in the day and late in the evening (I think around 2pm and 8pm)

I thaw a frozen cube (I rotate through six or eight different ones) and a bit of Rods or LRS in a cup of RO/DI each morning and evening, then drop it into the return of my HOB refugium, split up into two or three portions. It's kind of funny - when the fish see me coming with the cup, they all race toward the _back_ of the tank... If I'm home through the day (usually Sundays only) I'll add a pinch of freeze-dried Cyclopeez, a pinch of pellets and a pinch of flake over the course of the midday. Couple of days a week, they get a half-sheet of nori in a clip suspended in the current.

Thats awesome - I really like that!

I spot feed all of my fish and corals with a turkey baster I got from the dollar store:D
That way I know all my fish got fed, and yes I think it keeps the nutrients down. And it's fun because for the most part they all wait their turn to get a morsel.
