How do you frag clove polyps?

Hi everyone,

I have a whole bunch of firework clove polyps that I’m looking to thin out and give away to the local club. I just have no idea how to do it.
When I have tried just trimming them and glued them to a plug they deflated, fell off, and died.
Does anyone have tips on how to frag clove polyps?

You did everything right, except you can't glue soft coral. Use this.

i just ripped off a mat of mine and used a bunch of super glue. it stayed long enough that it grew onto the plug.

Interested in how this works. Wouldn't you just end up smashing and pinching the coral if you used this? How flexy are the grippers?

so guessing removing said rock and removing them with a portion of the rock with a dremel is not an option.
