How do you guys take REALLY CLEAR PICTURES???

My pictures always come out to be blueish because of the light.

The really nice pictures are done with a DSLR camera using filters and post shoot editing with apps like Adobe lightroom.

You can get nice pictures with your phone but most phones don't take nice pictures under blue lights. You could try turning the blues down and the whites up and this should help a bit.

Get a yellow filter for your phone or DSLR that will kill the blue and make the pictures look good

a good DSLR and custom WB setting will do--no need for post-editing or filters

Check out the stickies and articles here. There’s tips for both phones and dslr.
Getting a good white balance can be a trick.

I do take photos with my dslr, does anybody recommend any setting on the camera??

If you share the camera and lens you are using, someone may be able to offer more specific advice. Here is an idea of my usual settings for my Nikon D7000 with a Tokina 100mm lens. Maybe it will help get you started.

Shooting corals through the glass on a tripod:
Set the camera to Aperture Priority Mode so ISO and Shutter Speed are automatic.
F stop is usually somewhere between 7 and 11 but the camera will adjust if I set it outside of that
WB is 10k. It is the highest setting as SaltyFilmFolks suggested.
Use a timer to avoid any shake from your hand

Shooting corals free hand:
Shutter Speed is 1/400
ISO is 640
F Stop is between 8 and 11
WB is still 10k

Shooting fish free hand:
Shutter Speed is 1/400
ISO is 640
F Stop is 3 or 4
WB is still 10k

I still have to do some post processing adjustment to the white balance, and usually make some other small adjustments.
