How do you handle new sps frag deliveries ?

I have aquacultured sps Frags coming tomorrow. Do I acclimated them to temp and salinity etc or just temp acclimate and pit in tank. Should I mount them where I want them or put them on bottom of tank and raise up slowly ?? Lighting is metal halide with led and t5 supplment. Par is 200 at bottom and 400 in upper 3/4 of tank. It’s 24” tall.

I don't light acclimate acros anymore. Never had a bleach.
I float the bags for a few minutes while I get my kids situated. Diapers changed ect ect. Then I dip or don't dip and just put in the tank.

I usually just plop them on the frag rack to watch for a while

I chop them off the plugs, dip the bejeezus out of them, remount and start them out in lower PAR 150-200.

I acclimate mine by adding my water to their bag after floating the bag. I've always heard it's pointless but it's became a habit at this point. I then do my dip and rinse, then I put the plug onto my magnetic frag rack until I get the motivation to move them to my rockwork. When I eventually move them to my rock I just cut the stem off of the plug and glue the disk and coral to the rock. It's best to completely remove the plug, but usually by the time I move it the coral has already encrusted the plug.

Most of the time I leave them there until I buy more and need the space.

In general, I float them for 15 minutes or so, then dip and rinse them, then put them in the tank (no drip acclimation for corals). If it’s a coral that I’m worried my lights may be too much for, I will light acclimate them on a frag rack or just move them up the rock work, if I’m not concerned, I will mount them where I want them.

Yes. I will temp acclimate and mount at 260 par. Hope that is ok. These are all acropora Frags with long Time in captivity

just got my frags, the water chemistry was not ideal in my opinion- alk 6.67 no3- 0.00 po4 0.09

hope the frags dont rtn... my parameters are alk 8.0 no3 10 po4 0.03

Float. Remount if not from a super good friend that I trust to not have pests. Bayer dip. Into the frag tank for observation for a few months. Frag tank has the same light and same general parameters as the display. I don't care about water parameters and do not slow acclimate them. I have halides, so nearly no risk of light issues.

Don't sweat parameters in a bag... lots happen in there and it is not an indication of where they came from.

If the frags were shipped, I temp acclimate for a while in the sump. I then put them into my LPS frag tank under T5 for a day or two to recuperate before dipping (KCl). Replace into the LPS tank for a few more days then into display or SPS frag tank assuming the dip was clean.

So the thing I do different (maybe) from most is letting the recuperate before dipping.
