I have an anacrapora (briar coral) and the placement left it basically "die" on it's backside. I've moved it slightly but now I'm just shading "new" parts of it. Is there anything I can do to control the shading or should I just let it go? It's growing, doesn't seem to mind the shaded areas? How are reefers handling it?

What lighting are you using? I picked up gen4 radion xr30 pro in 2018 thinking it was all i would ever need but ended up adding orphek or3 bars-1 daylight & 1 blue. I have them angled in so it hits more of the coral. T5 is probably the best but im an led guy

more light. specifically LED bars or t5s

Radion XR15. Not a big tank. New gen. I'm not sure I have room for more lights!

I hear you. Would love to see a picture. Sometimes people will install their main lights on an angle to hit more area’s of the tank.

It is why LEDs get supplemented so often on acropora tanks - more panels, T5s or strips are added. There is nothing that you can do outside of this.

It is hard to know, but usually the shaded parts get worse as the coral grows and the backsides die. It does not always cause an issue, but sometimes it can.
